Worship God Anyway!

Study of Judges 13 part 3

“(15)And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, I pray thee, let us detain thee, until we shall have made ready a kid for thee.
(16)And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Though thou detain me, I will not eat of thy bread: and if thou wilt offer a burnt offering, thou must offer it unto the LORD. For Manoah knew not that he was an angel of the LORD.
(17)And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, What is thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass we may do thee honour?
(18)And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret?
(19)So Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto the LORD: and the angel did wondrously; and Manoah and his wife looked on.
(20)For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground.
(21)But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD.”
Judges 13:15-21

Take a look back up at verse 16. Manoah was not certain that this was an angel of the Lord speaking to him. He felt certain it was a man who knew some things. He respected what he was telling him, but it seems like he wasn’t 100% sure this message was directly from God himself. BUT we see that he and his wife sacrificed, and worshiped God anyway. Even in their uncertainty.

Are you acknowledging God, my friend? Has he given you a direction to go, but you aren’t sure you want to go that way? Or do you simply “have a gut feeling” about something you should do/not do? Or are you waiting to hear from God in an area of your life? Worship Him anyway. Even in the waiting. In the lack of understanding. In the uncertainty. Because one day you will look back (hind sight is 20/20), like Manoah did in verse 21. And you will know that it was God all along who was working things out, leading and directing. Working all things for good in your life. (Even in the “bad times”.)

God keeps his promises.

But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD.
And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him.
And the Spirit of the LORD began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.

Judges 13:21, 24-25

God told Manoah and his wife they would have a son. He kept his word. He blessed the baby. He blessed Manoah and his wife. And God ended up using that boy in a mighty way. When we obey, and trust God, He can do and give us great things. As hard as it may seem at times, worship. Acknowledge and glory in who God is. Give God thanks for what he has done, and look forward to what he will do through and for you in times to come. Because one day soon you will realize He was moving all along!
