Morning is Coming!

Ever have one of those days you could not wait for it to end? Yea, that was me yesterday. My day started out heavy with burdens but ended nothing like I expected. I was ready for bed around lunch, ready to try to forget what felt like would consume and break me.

But, being broken is a good thing. It’s in those times of despair that we look more intently to our Lord. When the news you’re not expecting is put right into your face and it is all you can see, it has a way of trying to overtake you. Every emotion, fear, doubt, you name it surfaces and consumes you. It is in those times we need to remember that “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” Psalm 34:18 The Lord knows every single detail of our troubles. He knows what, how, when, where, why…He knows it all and is right there with you. Nigh in this verse means next to, allied with, at hand. He is right there, I mean all up in the midst of our broken, crushed, torn up mess. When our hearts are completely shattered, our dreams or expectations have changed. When that doctor’s visit ended with an unexpected diagnosis. When a loved one is facing a trial that you can do nothing to change for them. When there seems to be no hope of that soul you’re praying for to be saved. When you’ve been hurt or betrayed by someone you love dearly, When life gets unbearable, remember this…God is right there. All things, all people may fail, BUT JESUS NEVER!!!! He is a man that He cannot lie. He promises that He is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart and He will save them. He will run to their aid, bring to safety, avenge, rescue, get the victory for the shattered, crushed in spirit. When you are brought to nothing, that my friend is when He is the closest to you.

When all I could do was cry yesterday, I turned my Bible app on and let it play continually. I just let His Word saturate my soul. I just cried, prayed and listened. Nothing else mattered. Nothing but hiding in Him. I made it through the day. When time for bed came, my husband and I were praying together and we both gave every worry, every despair over to the One who is allowing this trial to crush us. We want Him to be our everything. And we want everything about us to be nothing but about Him. A sweet sleep was very welcomed last night.

I awoke this morning and immediately had a song on my lips. “Let the Redeemed of the Lord say so” Yes, Let the redeemed, the one bought with a price, the one who knows He is good, the one who has seen, heard and witnessed His faithfulness time and time again say so. That someone is me. I can say….

His Compassions fail not.

His mercies are new every morning…

Great is HIS Faithfulness.

Though all hell may come against me in this one thing I will remember…..

Nothing can touch me, that doesn’t pass through His Hands.

Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.

My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.

This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.
