Lord, I’m Thankful!

For every single thing, Lord, I’m thankful!

For the highs…. Oh the mountain tops, who doesn’t love them? These are the times when we can breathe easily and enjoy the victory of our last battle. I’m so thankful for times of refreshing and rest. The times I take His yoke and learn of Him. He gives me rest.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28

For the lows… The valley. No other words are needed to describe this place but Lord I’m thankful for the valleys. This is where I learn to look and focus on only You. I have to look up to where my help is and see You are all I need!!!

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

Psalm 121:1-2

For the blessings…. We all love blessings! All the things we don’t deserve that He so freely gives. He’s so good..so so good! Desires and things longed for, prayers that have been prayed, and even things above and beyond all of our imaginations, He gives. Lord I’m thankful for the so many blessings You have given me.

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Ephesians 3:20

For the lessons… There have been many lessons that I’ve had to take numerous times. I’m thankful for a patient Lord who graciously knows my frame and just how to teach me. I want to be teachable and learn to be more like Him.

Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

Psalm 25:4-5

The setbacks… The times I’ve given into my selfish desires, my ways and not wholly followed the Lord. Lord, I’m thankful for Your gentle hand of correction, compassion and long suffering. It’s in these times I am humbled that He would love someone like me who fails Him daily.

For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Proverbs 3:12

The comebacks… Lord, I’m thankful for every single time when I’ve come to myself, You’ve picked me up and helped me walk again in Your ways. Every day I fail, but everyday You are there to forgive and make my comeback a time of seeing Your forgiveness, love, mercy and grace all the greater!

I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.

Psalm 119:59

For the love… Oh love of God, how rich and pure, how measureless and strong! I’m thankful for His love! I’m thankful for the love of His church, the love of my husband and family, the love of friends. Im also thankful that He is love and He teaches me to love like Him. Oh I’m thankful for a love that endures the test of time, the hottest of fires, the coldest of winters and its powerful enough to soften the hardest of hearts! Oh I’m thankful for love!

We love him, because he first loved us.

1 John 4:19

For the hate… I do not like this word, But I’m thankful for the hates in my life. They’ve taught me realness. Oh yes the hates hurt, but the hates help. They push me closer to my Saviour, my Comforter. They teach me to love anyway. They teach me forgiveness when it seems unforgivable, they teach me patience instead of outrage. The hates make me see Christ for a loving Saviour He is. He was falsely accused, beaten and condemned to die for a crime He didn’t do. Yet, He loved anyway. Lord, I’m thankful for the hates!

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

Isaiah 51:3-7

For everything… For my home and my family, for my church and my friends, for food and clothes, for prayers answered and unanswered, for needs and wants, for everything, Lord I’m thankful!

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Most of all, I’m thankful I know YOU! I’m thankful You left all of glory to come to be born in a lowly stable, live a sinless life, die on a cruel cross and rise again the third day for someone like me. Lord I’m thankful for Your salvation, Your grace, Your mercy, and Your Love! I’m thankful You’re a Father to the fatherless, a Help in the time of need, a Comfort when I’m broken. I’m thankful You’re everything I’ve ever longed for and All I’ve ever needed! Lord, I’m thankful!
