16 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge. 17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. 18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
2 Timothy 4:16-18
All of us have parts of our past we would rather forget. Things that have hurt us, or losses we have experienced. Perhaps mistakes we have made, or pain we have caused others. However, just like Paul was reminiscing in these verses, it does us good to remember some things. Let the past be the past, but also let it point you to the future. Remember the times He has brought you through, and apply faith that he can and will do it again in your current struggles.
Sometimes you will be hurt by others, and you might even feel alone. Forgive those people. And never forget that God is always with you. (Vs 16-17) Even when friends turn away, He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will even use you to bless others, if you so allow.
God will always give you strength. No matter if it is physical strength you need, or just the courage to face a difficult situation, God will provide. His timing is perfect. Trust Him to come through when you need Him most.
I have witnessed His faithfulness in His promise to never leave me or forsake me. While others have turned away, He never has! Thanks for this reminder that I can always trust that no matter what He is faithful and He is true!!!! ❤️
