My cup runneth over!

Revival:

1. Return, recall or recovery to life from death or apparent death; as the revival of a drowned person.

2. Return or recall to activity from a state of languor; as the revival of spirits.

3. Recall, return or recovery from a state of neglect, oblivion, obscurity or depression; as the revival of letters or learning.

4. Renewed and more active attention to religion; an awakening of men to their spiritual concerns.

Sometimes we can be drowning before we realize it. Sometimes we get to the point where we are dying a little (spiritually) every day. Many of us have quit learning and have neglected spiritual concerns altogether.

This week my cup has been filled. To the point of overflowing. Our Church’s fall revival has been nothing short of the breath of God in our lives. I can’t even begin to share with you every blessing and every way the Holy Spirit has nudged and tugged on my heart. I just wanted to let you know- He still works. He still moves. God still wants to stir us again, and renew a right spirit within us.

…thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”

Psalm 23:5

As I was attempting to take the photo for this blog post, I realized some things about a cup that runs over.

Number one: this cup had to have something in it to begin with. If you never get to the starting point of trusting in Christ as your savior, you will never experience your cup running over with his joy, love, blessings and peace. A full cup must start here.

Number two: this cup had to be prepared, in order to be filled. I had to get the cup, set it on the counter, and find a water source in order for this cup to run over. If you want your cup to run over, prepare your heart. Go to church. Read your Bible. Spend time around God’s people.

Number three: when this cup ran over, it affected everything/everyone around it. My countertop was a wet mess! There was a notebook sitting across the counter, which ended up with wet pages. Water fell from the edge of the counter onto the floor. When a cup overflows, everything around it bears the effects of the overflow. My whole family has been stirred this week. Our home will (prayerfully) never be the same. Our Church is being stirred because of the overflow of fellow members’ cups.

God has been good so far this week, ladies! Get in on a blessing near you. Find a Church that loves God, dig your heels in and roll your sleeves up. Praying His goodness only continues to overflow in my life.

Yes, to all of those thoughts! There was so much to meditate on, digest, and apply.
