Random Thoughts Women in the Bible

Everybody wants to be Titus 2:4, but nobody wants to be 1 Peter 5:5

I dare say most of us are familiar with the Titus 2 passage about how the aged women are to be the example and teacher of younger women. And it is a privilege to be in the position to be that example. But in order to be a teacher of good things, you must also be teachable. Nobody (not even your pastor) arrives at a certain level of maturity in life and stops learning. In spite of how educated you are, or how long you have been on this earth, you can always learn more. The Holy Spirit wants to teach you more, and grow you more in your walk with Him!

Even as teachers and examples to others, we must remain humble and teachable.

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

1 Peter 5:5-6

Who do you look up to? Whose teaching have you really submitted to lately? Or do you feel like you know it all? Give yourself to knowledge and wisdom, as Solomon instructs us to do in Proverbs and Ecclesiastes. Then, in due time God will put you in the position to teach others what you have learned!

The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
